Mega Camp 2026: A Powerful Retention Tool for Market Center Leaders

Retaining great talent is essential for growth in real estate. While the barrier to entry into the industry is low, attrition is high, meaning leaders with a proactive approach to retention realize the greatest success in keeping their teams intact and thriving. Within the Keller Williams ecosystem, Market Center leaders have access to a powerful retention tool that’s unique to KW: Mega Camp.

KW’s annual Mega Camp provides attendees with professional development training to advance in their career, improve productivity, and adapt to industry changes. In short, it helps associates stay competitive and effective in their roles, while also strengthening a sense of belonging — key factors in retention.

Mega Camp 2026: A Massive Growth Opportunity

Mega Camp 2026 marks the reunification of Mega Agent Camp and Mega Leadership Camp into one powerful Mega Camp. The four-day event centers on core training topics, including leads, listings, leverage, and wealth, where top agent panelists, guest speakers, and mastermind sessions offer attendees a comprehensive learning experience. It’s an event KW MAPS Coaching Director of Operations Kelly Cote describes as a “massive growth opportunity.”

“Mega Camp offers one of the highest content-to-time ratios in our entire industry,” Kelly says. “The schedule is packed, the learning is practical, and the expectation is implementation.” In just a few short days, attendees walk away with an extraordinary amount of actionable information they can apply immediately to their business or Market Center, Kelly says. “When you layer in CEO Summit, it becomes an incredibly powerful environment for leaders and agents alike.”

KWRI Division Leader Wendi Harrelson joined KW as an agent in 1991 and has been attending Mega Camp since its inception. Between technological disruption, consolidation, and the private listings debate, Wendi says she’s seen more industry change in the last 18 months than in over 30 years in real estate. That means it’s never been more important to stay up to date on the systems and models it takes to succeed.

“Mega Camp prepares you for what’s coming,” and helps you plan for what’s ahead, Wendi says. “Going to Mega Camp during the third quarter is the smartest thing you can possibly do to get set up to end strong and start strong in the next year,” she says.

That kind of momentum matters for retention. When people feel equipped for what’s next, they’re more likely to feel confident in their future with KW.

Professional Development for Agents and Leaders

When it comes to professional development, agents and leaders have different needs, and Mega Camp offers content tracks for both audiences.

“Real estate isn’t a profession where you learn it once and you’re done,” Kelly says. “Markets shift, consumer expectations evolve, technology changes, and the strategies that worked two years ago may not work as effectively today.” She says agents need continual development not only to build their businesses, but to refine their skills as they grow.

Kelly identifies lead generation, client conversion, and market adaptation as the top three professional development areas for agents. From AI-powered lead gen to pricing and positioning, this year’s Mega Camp agenda includes General Session content blocks that cover those topics — and much more.

The agent experience concludes with in-depth mastermind sessions segmented by role and area of specialization, with KW MAPS Coaches leading each breakout.

The MC26 agenda is also designed for Market Center leaders to attend agent-centric sessions alongside their teams. This provides leaders with a front row view of what their people are learning, the challenges they’re working through, and how to step in to support them. This year’s combined event also provides leaders with a distinct learning path of their own.

“Leading a high-performing Market Center requires a very different skill set than being a successful individual contributor,” Kelly says. Top of her learning list for Market Center leaders is leadership and talent development, business operations and financial performance, and culture and systems that drive productivity and retention.

The leadership track includes General Session presentations and interactive workshops that provide focused time for Market Center leaders to lean into those critical topics with others in a similar role. Sitting with peers facing the same leadership challenges combats the isolation that often comes with the role, and that sense of community can be a key factor in whether leaders themselves stay invested in KW over the long term.

The Importance of Connection and Belonging

While productivity is the key driver in retention, “At KW, we recognize that retention is bigger than simply ‘keeping people,’” Kelly says. “It’s about helping people build businesses and careers they actually want to stay in.”

That happens through consistent engagement, recognition, and a supportive culture — and Mega Camp delivers on all fronts, Kelly says. “That combination matters. When people are growing, connected, recognized, and supported, they’re more likely to stay and achieve their individual goals within the KW ecosystem.”

Mega Camp also contributes to a sense of belonging — a factor MC26 keynote speaker Simon Sinek says is critical to building loyalty and improving retention. “It strengthens the sense that you’re part of something larger than yourself — a community invested in helping you succeed,” Kelly says.

Wendi agrees. “Mega Camp is a place where you connect with people,” she says, where you’re reminded that as a KW-affiliated associate, you’re an integral part of a major force in the industry.

Leading by Example: The Benefit of Mega Camp for Leaders

Even after years of attending Mega Camp, Wendi says that the experience still serves as an energizing boost that keeps her connected with her sense of purpose: helping others succeed. There’s a lot of satisfaction in seeing those you mentored do well, and in recognizing that the guidance you provided helped someone go further in their career.

“There’s nothing better as a leader than being able to watch your people on stage — to congratulate them and take a picture of them, then send it to their spouse or their kids, and say, ‘Look at what your mom or dad is doing; this is amazing!’” Wendi says.

Because Mega Camp gives attendees the chance to have conversations with agents and leaders from across KW, it offers a broad view about what’s possible within the company. For associates considering a move away from KW or out of the industry altogether, Wendi says that outside perspective often provides the motivation and confidence they need to keep moving forward. That’s a major win for retention.

Whether someone wants to reach the highest level of success as an agent or step into a leadership role, Mega Camp provides an “opportunity map” for where to start, where to go, and how to get there. It’s a fact she knows from direct experience. “Most leaders from this company started as agents, and we’re still growing and building leaders,” Wendi says.

“The smiles, the excitement, the laughter at Mega Camp — those things energize me,” Wendi explains. “I leave happy and hopeful, knowing the next generation of leaders was in that room.”

Mega Camp 2026 takes place Aug. 17–20 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Registration is now open.
